India, the host country of various ancient monuments and tourist destinations, lakes is also one of the world’s most romantic destination.

If you are planning a getaway trip to enjoy and cherish some moments of love, here is a list of some of the most romantic destinations of India. Get ready to experience your Shudh Desi Romance in these romantic paradises.

Auli the Ski destination of India, surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, the Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat mountains, can be reached either by car or through a fun cable-car ride from Joshimath. It is a place for nature lovers.

Best time to visit Auli is in Winters, it presents a heavenly bliss for romance.

Darjeeling one of the most beautiful hill stations in the Eastern part of India. Spread over a steep mountain ridge, nestled amidst acres of lush green tea plantations. Have a cup of locally brewed chai at the tea estate, or get down amidst the plantations to pluck a few tea leaves yourself, you are free to take your pick.

Munnar, one of the most popular hill station of Kerala is the favourite destination among couples. Munnar is such a beautiful place in Kerala, which cannot be portrayed in a single canvas.

Everything and anything here will make us excited. The hills, the mist, the valleys, streams, waterfalls, tea plantations, rare flora and fauna. It is a beautiful tea town in Idukki district of Kerala easily accessible from Kochi and Coimbatore.

Romantic cottages and gardens, misty mountains and valleys and background music of waterfall gushing down the hills, promise you the most romantic holiday of yours.

Though the travelling distance is a bit much the after experience would not let you regret your decision. The various islands in the Andaman will leave you astounded.

Its excellent luxurious shorelines, blue shallow waters and the amazing under-water sports in the area.  In addition, could be more emotional than an uncrowded shoreline with crystal-clear waters.

The largest French colony of India steals the heart of every couple. You’ll very likely experience mild culture shock on discovering French architecture and restaurants serving steak and good wine.

Get overwhelmed while bicycling through the colourful alleys or walk on the narrow walkways jutting into the sea as surroundings are completely lit with mild lit setting sun! Pondicherry is for all the lovely couples out there.

Personally my favourite destination. It is not at all like the other hill stations, it’s serene beauty will make you fall in love with the place. To begin with, most hotels and homestays in Mcleodganj are adorned with beautiful rooftop terraces.

It is the perfect way to spend hours lazing over a delicious breakfast. In the evening, the balconies are the ideal place to spend some quality time with your loved one.

Daman and Diu

A little bit of wildlife, some heritage and lots of beach time – both these union territories offer a lot to do. It also offers delicious coastal food and cheap liquor. the ancient Daman fort before taking a romantic sunset cruise.

My other personal favourite destination is Udaipur. The romantic city of Rajasthan. Cuddling next to peaceful Lake Pichola, with the purple edges of the Aravalli Range extending ceaselessly toward each path.

Experience the days of the Raj with your loved one as you weave through the streets of Udaipur soaking in the colours and the variety of culture.

One of the most beautiful states of India, Kashmir is said to be the heaven on earth. A romantic getaway is the best possible time to go on a Kashmir trip. The snow, the rugged mountains at the distance and the green valleys around you will make you fall in love all over again. The ‘Meadow of Flowers’, Gulmarg will bring in all romantic emotions to your life.

Haflong is the only hill station of Assam. It is a scenic hill station that is surrounded by numerous beautiful lakes, streams, waterfalls and lush vibrant forests.

Haflong is a dream destination for nature lovers and camping enthusiasts. Haflong is a lovely destination for couples who desire some solitude.
