2020 began with all the fireworks and enthusiasm. While most of us were planning our new year resolutions, something in the air smelled fishy and it turned out to be the deadly Coronavirus.  Till this date, there is no cure for this deadly virus. The preparation of antidote is not an easy mission to accomplish. Scientists are trying way hard to create repelling medicine. 

What is Coronavirus?

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause illness in animals. This virus typically affects respiratory tracts of birds, mammals. It was first found in 1937 affecting poultry birds. 

How did the coronavirus get started? 

It is believed that this spread through bats but still it is unclear from where it originated.

According to sources, it has originated from the  “wet market” in Wuhan which sold both live and dead animals.

Major Symptoms of Coronavirus: 

  • High Fever

The symptoms are quite similar to a viral fever but if persist for longer it is advised to check. 

What to do to prevent Coronavirus?

  • Cover your mouth.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Avoid contact with people already affected.
  • Avoid eating raw or uncooked food. 
  • Avoid touching your nose, eyes. 

 

What to do if you think you have coronavirus?

  • Stay at home if you got mild symptoms.
  • Seek help if the condition worsens.
  • Try to stay germs free.
  • Try staying up alone preventing the spread of the virus.
  • Cover your cough and sneeze.
  • Oversee your symptoms.

The Health and Family Welfare has issued a travel advisory telling Indian citizens to not to travel in cities like China, S.Korea, Iran and Italy. The government has also tightened security checks for coronavirus at various airports.  

Reports suggest that 2 positive cases of this virus are detected in India. These both cases have travel history for cities like Dubai and Italy. 

Travelling to cities where this virus is in high amount which is quite harmful. It is affordable to cancel the trips and stay at home. 

Some Scientific Facts About Coronavirus:

  • It’s an airborne virus. 
  • The lifetime of the virus is very less. 
  • You won’t get affected by eating food. 
  • Contamination from meat is not possible if the meat is fully cooked. 
  • Everyone can get affected. 
  • Ordering products from affected cities won’t make you affected. 

Prevention is better than cure and the saying is indeed true.
